Found a copy of the 2011 issue of NOON. I love Noon! They publish short stories and photographs once a year in striking editions. This one has a Spotted Hyena on the cover. This particular issue of Noon is dear to me since one of my oldest friends Vi Khi Nao is between its covers! Who is Vi Khi Nao? Maybe the better question is, When is Vi Khi Nao? She is NOW (and later) (and ago)! But to answer the first, she has a book out on Fugue State Press and she is going to Brown in Fall 2011 to get an MFA. She also writes down telephone conversations while you talk to her and will happily cook for you any day of the week (except for Palm Sunday, and on that day she rests.)
Also in NOON 2011 are: Christine Schutt, Deb Olin Unferth, Clancy Martin, Dylan Nice (who lives near me, maybe, since I have seen him before; he was sweet or nice you could say), Lydia Davis, Brandon Hobson (“I like Vaginas” p. 66), Kim Chinquee, Gary Lutz, and many others.
Highly recommended.
